Seals Banks Nearly Half Million Dollars

Raises Over $300,000 in Third Quarter, Racks up Endorsements,

Demonstrates Tremendous Local Support

Wilmette, IL- Democratic Congressional Candidate Dan Seals announced his impressive fundraising numbers for the third quarter of 2007.  The grassroots candidate raised approximately $301,308 with 94% of the amount raised coming from Illinois.  His fundraising totals actually increased during what is widely considered the toughest quarter of the year, suggesting that the campaign is picking up momentum. 

In addition to the over 700 individuals that contributed to his campaign this past quarter, several Political Action Committees, including the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) and the International Association of Machinists (IAM) all endorsed his candidacy and contributed to his campaign.   He also received contributions from Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) and Congressmen James Clyburn (D-SC), both of whom are in the House leadership.  Former Tenth District Congressman Abner Mikva has also contributed.

“I am pleased with the amount of local support that we are receiving.  People are excited and ready to have a Congressman who will put people before politics,” said Dan Seals.

Dan Seals has raised over $578,000 during the 2008 cycle from over 1,000 individuals and has approximately $496,000 cash-on-hand entering into the final quarter of 2007.  

Dan Seals is one of the top online fundraisers in the country according to the website ActBlue.com.  He ranked fifth in online contributions in the third quarter and is currently third in the lifetime totals behind Presidential candidate John Edwards, according to the site.  Dan is endorsed by Blue Majority 2008, which is anetroots project sponsored by DailyKos, OpenLeft, MyDD, and the Swing State Project.
