WELLS, Maine — Tyler Sar, a to start with-generation college or university college student has been named York County Group College’s 2022 Scholar of the Calendar year. Sar was also named top rated of his course in the Maine Legal Justice Corrections Academy.

With his diploma in criminal justice and prosperous completion of academy instruction, Sar has been employed as a corrections officer at the York County Sheriff’s Section. The semifinalists contain: Abhinav S. Govindaraju of Bedford Significant School, Ke Nicole Hu of St. Paul’s College, Akhil S. Kammila of Nashua Higher College South, Lilia R. Potter-Schwartz of Portsmouth Large School, Annabella Wu of Londonderry Higher College and Vincent H. Xiao of Phillips Exeter Academy.

“These superior university seniors are amid a team of really distinguished and academically-centered students who have been picked out simply because of their achievements equally within and exterior of the classroom,” stated Frank Edelblut, commissioner of schooling. “I congratulate them for their difficult get the job done and determination in the course of the earlier 4 many years, and know that they will prosper at whatever will come their way. It is an honor to have this sort of gifted and devoted students in the Granite State.”
